38 Stainless bosses are made the same diameter as the internal bore of the tube with a 12mm thread 25mm long on the end.

Another much cheaper way around this process is to well a 12mm stainless nut inside the tube, if you just take the grinder to round the corners off….only slightly, keep the fit tight…I like it where I have to hammer the nut in. Sink the nut just below the end of the tube, and weld the end of the tube to the nut…..I have used this meathod many time and never once had any problems.

37 Then back to the boring job of buffing the stainless.
39 The tube is drilled with a 9mm hole for plug welding, the ends are also welded for extra strength.
