Bart Bristow – There are only two GTs in the UK Nigel Buck at Milton Keynes has the first been second hand and i have the second but new i on received it Monday, it will have its first outing this weekend at the Gower

Wayne Carkeek – let the top ten placings in worldwide events decide the race buggy, the main criteria for a race buggy is that it is capable of winning, pretty simple when you think of it like that. If you want anything other than a race winner then it opens up way more options

Nick Thompson – I don’t agree all that proves is you have a good kite more than likely a vapor your a great pilot and have a good buggy perhaps not the best though.

Wayne Carkeek – top ten must yeild a lot of excellent buggies , i would like to see the worlds best vapor pilot win with a basic buggy, also if everyone has a vapor then the buggy is even MORE important

Wayne Carkeek – i didnt mention the Apex , but we were all thinking it , i guess that is at least one possible answer then .. I dont own an Apex but i have alot of respect for the hard nosed race winning design.

Wayne Carkeek – agreed so that is why i thought top ten was a good place to look for a contender . A good pilot can make a crap buggy go faster but the same pilot in a good buggy will go faster still

PTW – Certain buggies, like certain kites and pilots will suit different courses, one buggy may be best suited to one course over another, but it will only be a subtle difference, I dont think really you can say with any certainty one race buggy is the best, to me if your buggy is made for your needs, in this case racing, and it has been made to measure for you, then your buggy is the best. No buggy in reality will go quicker or faster than a similar buggy, that is down to pilot skill and choice of kite

PTW – So that opens the question then, if you are out to buy a new race buggy, what would make you pick one over the other?

Al Noblet – its an impossible question, but i think a lot of buggiers are also parttime engineers and have the ability to see the ballance of a buggy system and what makes them handle nicely, this has to be a given….then its up the evolutionary process, an old buggy builder will probably build a better buggythan a newer one….but you could buy the best buggy in the world and strap the seat up in the wrong place, mess up the COG and ride round on a pig all day….that easy….once upon a time the vmax was the best buggy ever, now we could trash one in an afternoon….but they still handle amazingly…

Arend Geerlings – Come to a beach in Holland. You can sit down in three of the best buggys in the world. XX Apex, GT-race FO and MG-aero. The difference is super big. But…..the Apex and GT are handmade. The Aero an production model. I will not say that One buggy is better than the other. The pilot makes the most out of it. Balance can you self make in the buggy. And we humans are all built different. I am a GT pilot. What I like the most is that you can customise everything. Bigger, smaller, longer, shorter, surface, tyres, steps…..seat (the best seats I know, but they are UK made……;-))

Jeroen Potters – Not to forget , the Apexx is developed from 25 year of experience, together with worlds best pilots,…even the first Apexx ( 7 years ago) is different then the current Apexx, due to small changes ,…inovations we call it,..

Nicolas Mertens – I own an MG Aero and like it a lot. In my opinion you get a great value for money. MG offers it’s AERO model for a market blowing price. I’ve heard drivers complain about each every model on the dutch market, but I also heard them praise their own model. The best thing you can do is try them all and choose your best value for your budget. the Dutch market is overruled with XXtreme’s Apexx, GT-Race and MG Aero but we also have Libre Majestic and PL driving! Personally (don’t want to offend any other brand here) right now I prefer MG Aero cuz of it’s low budget and non compromising built quality. With Aero you also get Cadkat and Duro, license plates and towbar out of the box for same pricing. The counter part is that this is a production and non hand crafted buggy. Also the thing to look for, and all of these buggy’s are equipped with one, are tightened sidebars. It makes the buggy experience feel a lot safer and powerslides are peace of cake without danger of OBE. This in combination with Duro’s on Cadkat makes you feel very safely as you cruise around. Best of luck with all brands and choose wisely…
